50 UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS. We have deemed it wise to estimate the probable income of the school, first, from attendance, and second, from University appropriations. The first of these items we place at $500 and the second at $1,500, making a total of of $2?000 as the estimated income of the school for the next session. Subtracting from this $200 for miscellaneous expenses and $400 for the salary of the director, we have left $1,400 for salaries of the corps of instruction. We find that the average salary for the session last year was $150 for each instructor, and that the $1,400 presumed to be available would enable us to provide this year a corps of ten instructors in addition to the director. We therefore recommend that your honorable body appropriate $1,500 for the next session of the summer school. Kespectfully submitted, DAVID KINLEY, Secretary of Committee of Administration.
