Paper D is a list of vouchers presented for audit, being 1,651 to 2,150. Paper E is an estimate of receipts and expenses for the nine months ending September 1, 1896. Paper F is a list of appropriations the Board is requested to make for the three months ending February 29, 1896. I have asked that $8,000.00 be appropriated on account of President's House. The architect's estimates in favor of the contractors to this time amount to to $6,800.00; $1,800.00 of this has been met out of the $2,000.00 received as part payment on the Griggs farm, leaving $5,000.00 to be met out of the $8,000.00. Other accounts are also to be met out of it, and it may be best to increase the amount. . Under the orders of the Board I have purchased—

Nine Babcock fire extinguishers at an expense of One Miller extinguisher for Five long ladders for Four dozen fire buckets $202 19 7 50 50 40 24 00

I have also contracted for a fire-escape ladder and stand-pipe to extend to the top of University Hall at an expense of $275.00. Additional hose will be purchased, and it seems desirable that several more of the Miller extinguishers should be had. I inclose a communication in regard to the Kirker-Bendir fire-escape for the consideration of the Board—Paper G. Respectfully submitted,

S. W. SHATTUCK,

Business Agent.
