This report was adopted, and t h e regent and t h e committee on instruction were directed to classify for t h e catalogue of this year t h e present corps of instructors, in accordance herewith. F. H. Dodge, of Chicago, was appointed director of t h e gymnasium and instructor in athletics, a t a salary of not to exceed $1,600 a year; term of service to begin September 1, 1894. The farm committee made t h e following report:

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN: Your farm committee respectfully reports that, inasmuch a s t h e larger portion of t h e agricultural appliances, stock, etc., has been turned over t o t h e Experiment Station, i t is recommended t h a t a committee (the professor of agriculture being a member thereof) be appointed to reconstruct and revise t h e agricultural department of t h e University, visiting and examining, if necessary, agricultural departments of other Institutions of like character with this, and to report, if practicable, a plan of organization for t h e department, and any further suggestions, as the committee may desire, at t h e next meeting of t h e board. The committee also recommends t h a t t h e sum of $100 be appropriated for drainage purposes on t h e experiment farm. Respectfully submitted,
