The B o a r d then proceeded t o the discussion of t h a t p a r t of the Begent's report relating t o t h e uses' t o be made of the money t o be received from the Morrill college aid act. On motion of Mr. Cobb, the general policy for the administ r a t i o n of these funds, outlined by the Begent, was approved. The propositions in the following p a r a g r a p h s , numbered from 1 t o 8, were then discussed and severally approved t o go into effect as soon as the receipt of t h e expected funds would warrant: 1. I t was voted t h a t of t h e a m o u n t s paid Professors Burrill and Morrow from Experiment S t a t i o n funds, $300.00, should hereafter be paid each from the University funds; and t h a t $500.00 of t h e salary of the Secretary, W. L. Pillsbury, should be paid from t h e University funds. 2. I t was voted t h a t the v a c a n t professorship of mining engineering should be filled.
