Mr. Morgan reported informally from the Finance Committee t h a t there were funds for the appropriations asked except for one or two large a m o u n t s , which might go over. The treasurer reported as follows in relation t o the endowment fund:

SPRINGFIELD, Oct. 1, 1891.

To the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois.

GENTLEMEN: I have received $11,000.00 for Sangamon county 8 per cent, bonds due September 15, 1891, and have bought $9,000 Pike county 7 per cent, bonds on a 5 per cent, basis, due July 1, 1895. Yours respectfully,

The report was approved. An a p p r o p r i a t i o n was made from current funds of | 6 3 0 t o p a y the premium on the bonds purchased, and of $41.30 in payment of taxes on Nebraska lands. The Business Agent, Professor Shattuck, then read his r e p o r t :
