The B o a r d of Trustees of the University of Illinois met in the University P a r l o r , in Urbana, a t 4 o'clock p. m., Tuesday, September 8, 1 8 9 1 . Present, Messrs. Bullard, Clemens, Cobb, Graham, R a a b , and Shawhan; absent, Governor Fifer and Messrs. B r y a n t , Funk, McKay, McLean, and Morgan. Professor Burrill, Acting Regent, presented his r e p o r t : REGENT'S REPORT. To the Board of Trustees, University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN: However much I regret the emergency which has caused your paction in making me Acting Regent of the University, I conceive it to be my duty formally to accept your call and to contribute in every possible way within my power to the well-being and well-doing of the great institution intrusted to your care.
