Regent. He also asks for a partition in the physical laboratory, to cut off a tool and work room, to cost $40, and $175 for a lathe and tools. Professor Palmer requests that $300 be appropriated for the partition and cases, etc., of a scale room in the chemical laboratory, which he says are a necessity. Additional settees are required in two rooms, to cost $115. The present appropriation for Board expenses is fully expended. The Committee on Buildings and Grounds reported t h a t it h a d looked into the m a t t e r of building a dry room a n d lumber sheds, as requested by Professor Ricker, and t h a t it recommended their construction, and t h a t an a p p r o p r i a t i o n of $1,000 be made for this purpose from current funds. On motion of Mr. Cobb, the recommendation was approved and the a p p r o p r i a t i o n was made. The proposition for advertising in the Chicago Graphic, which h a d been left with the Secretary by Mr. C. S. Bouton, was referred t o the committee in charge of t h e advertising, with instructions t o report a t the next meeting. The special committee on revision of rules made a p a r t i a l report, and asked t h a t another special committee be api3ointed t a consider the subject of the reorganization of the military department. The proposition of the committee was agreed t o and the Acting Regent, the President and Mr. Shawhan were appointed. Mr. McKav's bill for traveling expenses was allowed ; a m o u n t , $158.70.
