MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 10, 1889.

The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met in the University parlor, in Urbana, at 3:30 o'clock p. m., September 10, 1889. The members present were Messrs. Bennett, Bullard, Clemens, Cobb, Edwards, Harker, McLean, and Shawhan; absent, Governor Fifer, and Messrs. Haskell, McKay, and Millard. The minutes of the last meeting were approved. > The Regent's report was then read.

REGENT'S REPORT.

To the Trustee* of the University of Illinois. GENTLEMEN: At the last meeting of the Board of Trustees, the Regent "was authorized to fill the vacancies in the list"—of appointments—"on consultation with the Committee on Instruction, subject to the approval of the Board. For this purpose Mr. Shawhan was made a member of the committee." Pursuant to this action of the Board, the following appointments have been made:
