Candidates for t h e School of Ancient L a n g u a g e s will be examined in Greek, b u t n o t in B o t a n y , Physiology or N a t u r a l Philosophy. Students desiring t o enter t h e College of L i t e r a t u r e a n d Science m u s t pass t h e examinations in p r e p a r a t o r y L a t i n before they can be matriculated.

OBJECT O F THE SCHOOLS.

The object of t h e schools in this college is t o furnish a sound a n d liberal education t o fit students for t h e general duties of life, a n d especially t o prepare them for those business pursuits which require a large measure of literary a n d scientific knowl-
