The Committee on Minnesota Lands reported as follows, and the report was approved for record.

J U N E 10, 1890. To the Board of Trustees University of Illinois. G E N T L E M E N : A S directed by you, t h e Committee on Minnesota lands, sent one of its number to Minnesota t h e middle of April last. He went over all of t h e University lands in Pope county, and found only small tracts of t h e m in use except for pasture. I n several instances fences had been p u t up for t h a t purpose. T h e parties were notified t h a t they must remove t h e m or pay 10 cents per acre. Several persons paid this amount. T h e grass on several quarter sections were sold. T h e cash receipts from these two sources amount to $64. The land which had been plowed was rented when possible, notes, secured by mortgages on t h e crop being taken. These are due October 15,. 1890, and should bring in about $400 m o r e ; b u t much trouble has been found in having t h e business of t h e committee completed after t h e visit*
