S6 Mr. DUELAP moved to amend by inserting at the end of section one:

" Provided, That all labor shall be voluntary."

The report was then adopted with the amendment Mr. PIOKEELL moved that the State appropriation made for farms of the University, be appropriated, to be expended under the direction of the Professor of Agriculture and the Farm Committee. Accepted and referred to the Executive Committee. The rtport of the Committee on Buildings and Grounds was received and adopted.

Your Committee on Buildings and Grounds, to whom was referred that part of the Kegent's report, which relates to repairs and improvement of the University buildings, beg leave to report that a new roof of tin work should be put on the main building the estimated cost of which would be $850. They also recommend a cast iron water table around the entire main and wing building on the offset in the brick work at the top of the basement stones, cost about $250. Also, the cornices and cupola of main building should be painted; cost, about $75. Also, that painting of the entire brick wall of the University building would prevent the absorption of moisture and much improve the appearance of the building; the cost of paintbag the entire walls, $1,000. They recommend the sidewalk to the Springfield road, about 900 feet on west side of University grounds; cost of sidewalk, $250. They also recommend the walls of corridors or passages in the University building to be painted five feet high, two coats; cost about $150.
