Sheep Housing Project (ANSC 467) Stock Pavilion Companion Animals Club presents their project to design a housing facility that could support sheep in all kinds of conditions. This semester long project required immense calculations and consideration for the animal’s specific needs. Illini Poultry Club Stock Pavilion Visit the Illini Poultry club and see chicks hatching throughout the day, tame hens to pet, various egg and poultry information, and enjoy a fun trivia game! Illini Dairy Club Stock Pavilion The Illini Dairy club presents dairy science posters, information for student field trips, feedstuffs, a cow stomach, an interactive milk-a-cow booth and the fistulated cow (a cow with a hole in her side)! Companion Animals Club Stock Pavilion Stop by the Companion Animals Club booth and get a hands-on experience with a variety of different animals. It’s what our club is all about!

The Effect of Relaxin in Mammary Gene Expression of Ovariectomized Pregnant Gilts Stock Pavilion Learn how relaxin and progesterone are both hormones required for proper mammary gland development. This experiment looked at the supplementation of one or both hormones and how they affected the genes expressed by the gland. An ACES James Scholar project presented by Elizabeth Cutler (Allentown, PA). Effects of replacing corn and soybean meal with distiller’s dried grains in an alfalfa-based completely pelleted diet for weanling horses. Stock Pavilion This experiment was conducted to determine if distiller’s dried grains can successfully replace soybean meal and a large portion of corn in the equine diet without producing negative growth effects. It involved comparing the apparent digestibility between the two diets. An ACES James Scholar project presented by Amy Brogren (Coal Valley, IL). Pre-Vet Club Stock Pavilion Come check out the Pre-Vet Club’s exhibit! You can learn interesting information about the Pre-Vet curriculum and Vet school, as well as meet Pre-Vet students and their pets.
