Organization of the map resources of the library has been started by Miss Parry. The library now contains a substantial collection of between 25,000 and 30,000 maps. This is a new and important development as, it has been stated, no university or college library has yet developed a map collection of first-rate importance. We hope that in time this collection of maps may be outstanding. R A R E BOOK ROOM The holdings of the University Library in the rare book field have been steadily increasing. To protect this material, a Rare Book Room has been established with the collection formerly known as the Seventeemh Century Room serving as its nucleus.
