MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS N o v e m b e r 28, 1952 The November meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the LaSalle Hotel, Chicago, Illinois, on Friday, November 28, 1952, beginning at 10:30 a.m. When the Board convened, the following members were present: Mr. Harold E. Grange, Mr. Wirt Herrick, Mrs. Doris S. Holt, Mr. Wayne A. Johnston, Mr. Park Livingston, Mr. Herbert B. Megran, Mr. Vernon L. Nickell, Mrs. Frances B. Watkins. Governor Adlai E. Stevenson, Mr. John R. Fornof, and Mr. Robert Z. Hickman were absent. Also present were President George D. Stoddard, Provost Coleman R. Griffith, Vice-President A. C. Ivy, Mr. Ralph F. Lesemann, Legal Counsel, Mr. J. F. Wright, Director of Public Relations, Professor Roger Adams, Head of the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Robert E. Johnson, Acting Dean of the Graduate College, Dr. Warren H. Cole, Head of the Department of Surgery, Dr. Granville A. Bennett, Head of the Department of Pathology, Dr. Danely P. Slaughter, Director of the Tumor Clinic, Research and Educational Hospitals; Mr. Lloyd Morey, Comptroller, Mr. C. W. Weldon, Treasurer, and Mr. A. J. Janata, Secretary of the Board. 469
