1945] UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS 931 MEETING O F T H E EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE NOVEMBER 29, 1945 The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois met (in conference with the Committee on General Policy) at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 1945, at the University Club, 76 East Monroe Street, Chicago. Present: Mr. Park Livingston, Chairman, and Mr. C. R. Davis, member of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Committee on General Policy, and Dr. M. G. Luken and Mr. F. H. McKelvey, members of the latter committee; Dr. A. C. Willard, President, Mr. H. E. Cunningham, Secretary, Mr. Lloyd Morey, Comptroller, and Mr. C. S. Havens, Director of the Physical Plant. PROPOSED TEMPORARY HOUSING Mr. Livingston introduced Mr. George D. Tesch, architect, who stated that he came at the request of Senator Frank Ryan, and submitted plans and elevation sketches of his "Dodecadon" houses, and withdrew. The Director of the Physical Plant was requested to consider these plans. TEMPORARY HOUSING FOR VETERANS T h e Executive Committee and the Committee on General Policy considered the following matters connected with providing temporary housing for veterans presented by Director Havens. BIDS FOR GENERAL WORK A N D PLUMBING FOR PORTABLE HOUSES (1) The following bids for general work (including moving from present location and setting up on sites at the University) and plumbing were received on November 28, 1945. CONTRACT W I T H FEDERAL PUBLIC HOUSING AUTHORITY (2) A contract prepared by the Federal Public Housing Authority for 138 onebedroom and 137 two-bedroom portable family-dwelling units, together with certain equipment and facilities, at a rental of $1 a month for each dwelling.
