CONTRACT FOR REMODELING OUTPATIENT AREA O F T H E RESEARCH A N D EDUCATIONAL HOSPITALS IN CHICAGO (17) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend the award of a contract for $9,598 to the Mueller Construction Company, Chicago, the lowest bidder, for remodeling the outpatient collection area in the Research and Educational Hospitals. The work will consist of the rearrangement of partitions and general rehabilitation of the area and construction of cashiers' cages, in order to increase the efficiency of the functions carried on in the area and allow for some expansion for needed staff. Funds for this work are available in an appropriation approved by the Board of Trustees on June 19, 1958. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute this contract. A D D I T I O N TO CONTRACT W I T H CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERVICE (18) The Director of the Physical Plant and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommend authorization of an addition of $4,000 to the University's standing contract with Brown, Manthei, Davis, and Mullins, formerly Consulting Engineering Service, Champaign, for the preparation of plans and specifications for the heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning work on the remodeling of space in the Engineering Research Laboratory for housing an IBM 650 Computer. I concur. On motion of Mr. Bissell, this recommendation was approved. PURCHASES (19) The Director of Purchases has proposed and the Vice-President and Comptroller recommends the following purchases. Unless otherwise specified, the purchase in each case is recommended on the basis of lowest bid. I concur.
