DEPARTMENTAL CHANGES IN T H E COLLEGE O F MEDICINE (7) A report of the following changes in the organization of the College of Medicine: 1. The Department of Pathology, Bacteriology, and Public Health has been established in place of the former Department of Pathology and Bacteriology. 2. The Department of Orthopaedics, instead of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. 3. The Department of Medicine, instead of the Department of Internal Medicine. 4. The Department of Neuropsychiatry, instead of the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry. 5. The Department of Pharmacology, Materia Medica, and Therapeutics, instead of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. These are simply changes in the titles and do not involve the establishment of new lines of work.

On motion of Mrs. Freeman, these changes were approved.

DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS (8) The Dean of the College of Commerce and Business Administration recommends that the Department of Public Utilities and Transportation be discontinued effective September I, 1934, and the courses in t h a t department be transferred to the Department of Economics.

On motion of Dr. Meyer, this change was authorized.

RETIREMENT OF PROFESSOR M. S. KETCHUM (9) A recommendation that Professor Milo Smith Ketchum be retired from active service beginning September i, 1934, with the rank of Dean of the College of Engineering and Director of the Engineering Experiment Station, Emeritus, with a retiring allowance of $4,000 a year.

On motion of Mr. Trees, this recommendation was adopted.

RETIREMENT OF HARRY L. GILL (10) A report that the Athletic Association has entered into an agreement with Mr. Harry L. Gill, who for over thirty years has been Coach of the University Track Teams and has taught classes in Athletic Coaching, providing for his retirement beginning September I, 1934. This arrangement is entirely between the Athletic Association and Mr. Gill and does not involve the University financially.
