AWARD OF PLYM SCHOLARSHIP TO HARLOW PANHOR8T (3) A recommendation from the Plym Scholarship Committee, concurred in by the Dean of the College of Engineering, that Mr. Harlow Panhorst be awarded the eighth Plym Foreign Scholarship in Architectural Engineering. I recommend approval. O n motion of D r . Noble, this appointment w a s m a d e . APPOINTMENTS TO ALLERTON TRAVELING SCHOLARSHIPS (4) A report that Messrs. Walter V. Wuellner and Fred William Salogga have been appointed to the two Allerton American Traveling Scholarships for the summer of 1931. This report w a s received for record. LEAVES FOR MEMBERS OF THE STAFF (5) A report that leaves of absence without pay have been granted the following members of the staff: Mary L. Chase, Assistant State Leader and Associate in H o m e Economics Extension, one month in addition to vacation allowance, for summer study at Cornell. Thelma Johnson, Clerk in the Department of Geology, one month in addition to vacation allowance, for travel. This report w a s received for record. SICK LEAVES FOR MEMBERS OF THE STAFF (6) A report that leaves of absence on account of illness have been granted the following members of the staff: P. E. Henwood, Associate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, from April 20 to the end of the academic year, with pay. Priscilla Howe, Assistant Recorder in the Registrar's Office, for two months from M a y 1 in addition to her regular vacation allowance with pay. Florence Cunningham, stenographer in the Business Office, two weeks with pay in addition to the Civil Service sick leave allowance of two weeks to which she is entitled. This report w a s received for record. COOPERATION WITH STATE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULT U R E IN ANIMAL PATHOLOGY DIAGNOSTIC W O R K (7) A recommendation, contingent on the necessary legislation being in force, that the Director of the Agricultural Experiment Station be authorized to make such arrangements and adjustments in the Laboratory of Animal Pathology as are necessary to utilize the personnel and funds which the State Department of Agriculture will be able to provide during the next biennium for the diagnostic work which the Laboratory heretofore has been doing for the State of Illinois at University expense. There is no acceptance or transfer of funds involved. The Department expects to provide $10,500 a year for salaries and approximately ?l2,ooo for the two years for operating expense. The necessary personnel will be appointed by the State Director of Agriculture on recommendations of our Department of Animal Husbandry and will work in the Animal Pathology Laboratory under the immediate direction of Professors Robert Graham, in charge of the Laboratory, and H. P. Rusk, Head of the Department of Animal Husbandry. O n motion of D r . Noble, this r e c o m m e n d a t i o n w a s adopted.
