MEETING OF T H E BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS October 11, 1990 T h e O c t o b e r meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in t h e Pine Lounge, Illini Union, Urbana, Illinois, on Thursday, October 11, 1990, beginning at 10:00 a.m. President Charles P. Wolff called the meeting to o r d e r and asked the secretary to call the roll. T h e following members of the board were present: Dr. Gloria Jackson Bacon, Mr. Kenneth R. Boyle, Mrs. J u d i t h A n n Calder, Mr. Donald W. Grabowski, Mrs. Susan L. Gravenhorst, Mr. Ralph C. H a h n , Ms. J u d i t h R. Reese, Mrs. Nina T. Shepherd, Mr. Charles P. Wolff. Governor James R. T h o m p s o n was absent. T h e following nonvoting student trustees were present: Mr. Scott Forbes, Urbana-Champaign campus; Ms. Dawn O'Shay Kelly, Chicago campus. Also present were President Stanley O. Ikenberry; Dr. Robert W. Resek, vice president for academic affairs; Dr. James J. Stukel, interim chancellor, University of Illinois at Chicago; Dr. Morton W. Weir, chancellor, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and the officers of the board, Dr. Craig S. Bazzani, comptroller (and vice president for business and finance); Mr. Byron H. Higgins, university counsel; Mr. B e r n a r d T. Wall, treasurer; and Dr. Michele M. T h o m p s o n , secretary. 83
