(SEAL) JOSEPH NOVOTNY Notary Public On motion of Mr. Ward, this bond was accepted and approved, and the Secretary was instructed to notify Mr. Capron that Mr. Hulbert had been elected and qualified as Treasurer, and to request Mr. Capron to turn over to Mr. Hulbert all funds, books, and securities belonging to the University and in his possession, accepting therefor Mr. Hulbert's receipt as Treasurer. MATTERS SUBMITTED BY PRESIDENT JAMES The Board considered the following matters submitted by President James: SPECIAL TAXATION BILLS (1) A statement concerning certain public policy bills introduced in the General Assembly to provide additional revenue, a portion of which should be used in carrying out the building program of the University. On motion of Miss Watson, the policy of the Board touching this matter was referred to the Executive Committee. ADMINISTRATION OF WOMEN'S RESIDENCE HALL (2) A statement concerning the administration of the Women's Residence Hall. This matter was referred to the Committee on Students' Welfare for consideration and report. HOUSE DIRECTOR OF RESIDENCE HALL (3) The application of Miss Mary R. Latimer for appointment as house director of the Womens' Residence Hall. This application was referred to the Committee on Students' Welfare for consideration and report. RESIGNATION OF PROFESSOR BLONDHEIM (4) The resignation of Dr. D. S. Blondheim from the position of Assistant Professor of Romance Languages, to take effect September 1, 1917. Dr. Blondheim has received a call to Johns Hopkins University. Lie has been an efficient member of our staff for some years and it is with regret that we lose him to a sister institution. On motion of Miss Watson, Professor Blondheim's resignation was accepted with an expression of appreciation of his services to the University.
