PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOAED OF TRUSTEES. APPROPRIATION NEEDED FOR COLLEGE OF MEDICINE.

7. A recommendation that the Committee on the Medical School should be asked to report as to the amount of money needed for the support of the medical school for the biennium, 1911-1913, and the consequent appropriations which should be asked for from the Legislature for this purpose. Voted t h a t said recomdendation be approved. VACANCY IN COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE. 8. Request from the comptroller of the University that he be authorized to fill the position of clerk and bookkeeper in the comptroller's office, vacated by the resignation of Elmer C. Harris, at a salary of $75.00 per month; and that in view of the readjustment of the work in the office owing to his resignation, the salary of M. E. Thompson, clerk, be increased by $5.00 per month, and that the salary of G. E. Phillips, clerk, be increased by the same amount. The request was granted on motion of Mr. Hatch and by the following vote: Ayes, Messrs. Abbott, Blair, Crebs, Grout, H a t c h and Moore, and Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mrs. Busey and Mrs. E v a n s ; noes, none; absent. Governor Deneen and Mr. Meeker. J. H. KELLY'S SALARY INCREASED. 9. Request that the salary of J. H. Kelly, chief clerk in the president's office, be increased by two hundred dollars ($200.00) for the year, beginning Sept. 1, 1910. On motion of Mr. Grout, and by, the following vote, the recommendation was adopted: Ayes, Messrs. Abbott, Blair, Crebs, Grout, Hatch and Moore,-and Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mrs. Busey and Mrs. E v a n s ; noes, n o n e ; absent, Governor Deneen and Mr. Meeker. ASSISTANT REGISTRAR APPOINTED. 10. A recommendation that Mr. H. E. Cunningham be appointed assistant registrar from Oct. 1, 1910, to Aug. 31, 1911, with a salary at the rate of ^fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500.00) per annum. By the following vote the'recommendation, was adopted: Ayes, Messrs, Abbott, Blair, Crebs, Grout, Hatch and Moore and Mrs. Bahrenburg and Mrs. E v a n s ; no, n o n e ; absent, Mrs. Busey, Governor Deneen and Mr. Meeker. . APPROPRIATIONS. 11. A recommendation that the following requests for appropriations be referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds with power to act: 1. Request for an appropriation of fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500.00) for cases to house properly -the mathematical models belonging to the University. 2. Request for an appropriation of five hundred dollars ($500.00) or such portion thereof as may necessary, to erect partitions in the basement of the Natural History building and furnish the rooms there created for the Department of Taxidermy. 3. A request for an appropriation of seven hundred dollars ($700.00) for the furnishing and equipment of the new rooms provided for the Department of Zoology. 4. Request for an appropriation of five hundred dollars ($500.00) or so much thereof .as may be necessary, to provide steel lockers in the-Law building.
