[March 19 for articles so furnished; and unless this can be arranged, it seems to me necessary that the Department of Chemistry should, in the future, refuse such items to other departments. ' Such a course on our part would be a great inconvenience to many of the smaller departments of the University. Any items which we furnish in this manner, are, I suppose, charged against the appropriations of the departments to which they are furnished. Very respectfully, W. A. I t was voted to approve the recommendation of Professor Noyes, to appropriate the sum of $681.76 to cover the bills and cash payments in question, and to instruct the comptroller to follow in the future the procedure suggested. ASSISTANT PROFESSORSHIP OP AGRICULTURAL, EDUCATION. (3) A request from Dr. Eugene Davenport, dean of the College of Agriculture, that the president of the University he authorized to fill the remaining vacancy in the Department of Agricultural Extension hy the appointment of an assistant professor of Agricultural Education at a salary of approximately $2,500.00 a year; this appointment to he made as soon as a suitable candidate shall be found, and to take effect on Sept. 1, 1912. I t was voted to approve this request, and to authorize the president of the University to make such an appointment. The vote was as follows: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch Mr. Hoit, Mr. Moore; noes, n o n e ; absent; Mr. Anthony, Mr. Deneen, Mr. Meeker. ROOF FOR COURT OF AGRICULTURAL BUILDING. (4) A request from Dr. Eugene Davenport, dean of the College of Agriculture, that the court of the Agricultural building be cemented and roofed over, one story high, to afford additional space; that the sum of $6,000.00, the estimated cost, be appropriated for this purpose from agricultural funds; and that the supervising architect be instructed to proceed at once with this .construction. By the following vote, this request was referred to the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, with power to act: Ayes, Mr. Abbott, Mrs. Bahrenburg, Mr. Blair, Mrs. Busey, Mrs. Evans, Mr. Grout, Mr. Hatch, Mr. Hoit, Mr. Moore; noes, none; absent, Mr. Anthony, Mr. Deneen, Mr. Meeker.
