lo the Board of Trustees. I have.had more anxiety about better provisions for physical, training work among the men than touching any other one matter, during the summer vacation. It is not too much to say that under all conditions which have grown up there is practically no opportunity at all for general work of this character among the entire body of students. The military work has come to monopolize Military Hall; and not only so, the structure has never had any adaption whatever to gymnasium purposes. I was disappointed at the failure to construct the addition planned by the Professor of Architecture, but since I have come to know all of the facts I do not see Low it was possible without either incurring obligations considerably in excess of all previous understandings about the matter, or contracting the structure so as to- make' it insufficient for our needs.
