The report was received, and, on motion, referred to the Finance Committee. Adjourned to meet Wednesday, June 10, 1885, at 9 A. M.

SECOND DAY'S SESSION. The Board assembled as by adjournment. Present—Trustees Bennett, Eisenmayer, Follansbee, McLean, Millard, Paden and Pearman. The Executive Committee submitted the following report:

To the Board of Trustees of the Illinois Industrial University: SIES—Your committee, to w h o m w a s referred t h e m a t t e r of l e a s i n g t h e Griggs farm, would respectfully r e p o r t t h a t t h e y have leased to Messrs. Baird a n d Sewell, for t h e t e r m of one y e a r from March 10,1885, t h e entire q u a r t e r section, a s follows: T h e forty a c r e s now in m e a d o w to be cut a n d put in s t a c k on said f a r m o n t h e h a l v e s ; forty a c r e s to be sown to oats, t h e r e n t a l for w h i c h is to be o n e - t h i r d t h e grain, to be delivered at any place in U r b a n a t h a t we m a y elect, a n d t h e r e m a i n i n g eighty a c r e s to b e p l a n t e d in corn, of w h i c h crop the University is to h a v e two-fifths, delivered in crib on s a i d farm. We would further r e p o r t t h a t we h a v e c a u s e d to be seeded to t i m o t h y g r a s s t h e forty a c r e s sown to o a t s at a n e x p e n s e of $18.50 for seed. We would further r e p o r t t h a t a n effort w a s m a d e to r e n t for c a s h , b u t receiving n o offer, t h e leasing w a s t h e b e s t t h a t could b e m a d e , a n d is t h e c u s t o m a r y r e n t a l for s u c h l a n d s in t h i s section.
