DEAR SIR: I note that your statement of tin- endowment fund of the Urn versity, contained in your letter of Novemln-r 11, l¥|J, tfivef the amount of this fund as $648,322.91, on January M, 191 J. This statement dm* not include a ( remittance of $tfMH) to the State Treasurer on December M, 1 M2. 1 presume, therefore, that the statement was as of January 1, 191.1, rather than as of January 31, 1913. It would seem that a statement of the endowment fund ;i> of January 1, 1914, may be made as follows: Reported January 1, 1913 $618 M2 91 Remitted January 2, 1913 60 00 Remitted 1 >ecemher 13, 1913 60 J » Total $648, 442 91 There are at the present time two land contracts in force. Contract No. 174 is due January 1, 1916. The amount of principal to be paid before that date is $120.00. Contract No. 214 is due January 1, 1915, the amount of principal t<» be paid being $450.00. This would make the total and final amount of the endowment fund of the University $649,012.91 on January 1, 1916.
