COMMUNICATION

T h e following resolution from t h e M e d i c a l C e n t e r Senate w a s presented t o the board for information. The most serious deficiency at the University of Illinois is the decline in real academic compensation. This is in view of the decline of the University of Illinois to ninth out of ten in the Big Ten, and its decline in relation to business and most government, with the effects of this on attrition and morale. The continuing decline in real terms of academic expenditure per academic employee and in real expenditure per student since 1971 at the University of Illinois seriously
