6 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [July 21 REGULAR AGENDA T h e b o a r d c o n s i d e r e d t h e following r e p o r t s a n d r e c o m m e n d a t i o n s t h e P r e s i d e n t of t h e U n i v e r s i t y . from Award of Certified Public Accountant Certificates (1) T h e Committee on Accountancy recommends that the certificate of Certified Public Accountant be awarded, under Section 5 of the Illinois Accountancy Act of 1943, as amended, to fourteen candidates who have presented evidence that they are holders of valid and unrevoked Certified Public Accountant certificates obtained by passing a standard written examination in another state or territory of the United States and w h o qualify in all other respects under this provision of the law. T h e names of the candidates are filed with the Secretary. I concur. On motion of Mr. Forsyth, these certificates were awarded. New Appointment to the Board of Directors of the Athletic Association, Urbana (2) O n t h e recommendation of the Chancellor at the Urbana-Champaign campus, I submit herewith the nomination of Professor William A. Ferguson to fill the vacancy on the Board of Directors of the Athletic Association created by the resignation of Professor Henry S. Stillwell. I n addition, Mr. Ferguson will serve as the Faculty Representative to the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Big T e n Conference. This appointment is to become effective immediately. O n m o t i o n of M r . L i v i n g s t o n , this a p p o i n t m e n t w a s a p p r o v e d .
