posal, emphasizing in particular its significance symbolically in providing modest, though permanent, housing for the President of the University in the city of Chicago. Reservations were expressed by others, not on the merit of the proposal itself or on the need for the housing suggested, but on the timing of taking action during the current financial climate. It was also pointed out that the facts might be distorted or misinterpreted in public discussion. Inasmuch as three members of the Board were absent, Mr. Neal directed Vice President Brady to review the subject with them, indicating that, if it were the wish of the Trustees, the topic could be reviewed again in July.1
