UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS

A schedule of the bids received has been filed with the Secretary of the Board for record. The Roosevelt Road Building is now being remodeled for various University and campus offices and facilities. The existing parking is not adequate for the planned use. The proposed construction will update and increase parking facilities in the parking lots north and west of the building from 283 spaces to 351 spaces, improve vehicular traffic flow from adjoining streets and within the parking area, provide better pedestrian access to the building, and create new areas for service vehicles and temporary contractor storage in the parking lot southeast of the building. The project consists of site clearing, resurfacing approximately 97,500 square feet of existing pavement, installation of 15,500 square feet of new bituminous paving, concrete driveways, curbing, catch basins, lighting and piping modifications, and construction of a guardhouse and refuse enclosure. The bids received are within the funds available, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed in September of this year.

The student advisory vote was: Aye, Mr. Conlon, Mr. Summers, Mr. Szegho; no, none. On motion of Mrs. Rader, these contracts were awarded by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Forsyth, Mr. Hahn, Mr. Howard, Mr. Livingston, Mr. Neal, Mrs. Rader, Mrs. Shepherd; no, none; absent, Mr. Lenz, Mr. Velasquez, Governor Walker.
