In the light of these recommendations, eleven proposals were submitted to the Vice President for Academic Development and Coordination for consideration (four from the Chicago Circle campus and seven from the Urbana-Champaign campus). After reviewing the reports and the endorsements, the Vice President for Academic Development and Coordination recommends that special awards of $1,000 be made for three of the eleven projects as follows: Chicago Circle Campos DARREL L. MUIUIAY, Associate Professor of Biological Sciences, "Development Use and Evaluation of Survival Kits." Urbana-Champaign Campus ROBERT L. OLSON, Lecturer in the College of Libera! Arts and Sciences, "Personal and Social Problem Solving." IAIN C. PAUL, Professor of Chemistry, "Chemistry of Life." I concur.

On motion of Mr. Hahn, these recommendations were approved. Sabbatical Leave of Absence, 1975-76, Urbana

(10) The Chancellor at Urbana-Champaign has recommended that the following faculty member be given a sabbatical leave of absence in accordance with the provisions of the University of Illinois Statutes and on the terms and for the period indicated. The program of research and study for which the leave is requested has been examined by the Research Board at the campus and the Vice President for Academic Development and Coordination has reviewed the application for the leave and recommends approval. Tuition and Fee Exemption for Cooperating Teachers and Administrators

(11) On February 21, 1962, the Board of Trustees authorized exemption of tuition and the service fee for school teachers and administrators who receive assignment of practice teachers, in recognition of the service they render to the University. The exemptions for those who register in University courses cover one semester or summer session for each semester in which the service is rendered and must be used during the calendar year, September to September, in which service is rendered. This limitation on the time period in which the exemption may be used has the effect of restricting the choice of term, especially for those who are assigned practice teachers during the spring term. The Chancellors and the Deans of Colleges of Education at Chicago Circle and Urbana-Champaign recommend the following change in the present regulation (deletions are in brackets, additions are in italics): 4.
