presently Professor of Theatre and Chairman of the Theatre Department, Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University, as Professor of Theatre on indefinite tenure and Head of the Department of Theatre, effective August 21, 1975, on a twelve-month service basis, at an annual salary of $30,000. Dr. Hobgood will succeed Dr. Barnard W. Hewitt who will retire this year. The nomination of Dr. Hobgood was made with the advice of a search committee 1 and after consultation with members of the department of professorial rank. The Chancellor at Urbana-Champaign approves the recommendation and the Vice President for Academic Development and Coordination concurs. I recommend approval.

On motion of Mr. Swain, this appointment was approved.

Appointments to the Faculty (6) T h e following new appointments to the faculty of the rank of Assistant Professor and above, and to certain administrative positions, have been approved since the previous meeting of the Board of Trustees.
