A t t h e r e q u e s t of M r . H u g h e s , t h e S e c r e t a r y p r e s e n t e d t h e following c o m m u n i c a t i o n , a resolution a p p r o v e d by the U r b a n a - C h a m p a i g n Senate on N o v e m b e r 18, 1974, a n d t r a n s m i t t e d in w r i t i n g b y t h e P r e s i d e n t of t h e U n i v e r s i t y to t h e T r u s t e e s : Be It Resolved, that it is the determination of this Senate that modifications to the 1969 Illini Union Board charge or composition are in fact within the purview of this Senate as "policies on student affairs" both by precedent and by the intention of the relevant University Statutes; Be It Resolved, that it is the determination of this Senate that its participation and recommendation is provided for in the University Statutes before final action is taken by the Board of Trustees on modifications to the charge or composition of the Illini Union Board; and Be It Resolved, that the Senate respectfully requests the Chancellor convey to the Board of Trustees these determinations for any action they might deem appropriate.
