530 BOARD OF TRUSTEES [April 17 MEETINGS OF BOARD COMMITTEES President H u g h e s announced there would be n o meetings of the Board Committees this month. DESIGNATION OF ALTERNATE MEMBER OF ILLINOIS BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION President Hughes indicated that for several years M r . Swain has served effectively as the University's alternate member of the Illinois Board of Higher Education. Because Mr. Swain has asked to be relieved of that responsibility, Mr. H u g h e s stated that he has asked M r s . Rader t o serve in that capacity. H e also stated that it was his intention to be less active in the affairs of the State Board and that M r s . Rader would assume the principal responsibility for this representation.
