REVISION O F REGULATIONS C O N C E R N I N G PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS FOR ENTERING STUDENTS ( R E V I S I O N O F T H E GENERAL RULES C O N C E R N I N G UNIVERSITY ORGANIZATION A N D P R O C E D U R E )

(12) For many years, new students entering the University have been required to receive a physical examination at the beginning of their first term. In view of greatly increased enrolments and the generally higher level of health of today's students, it is now felt by Health Service personnel that better health care may be furnished (in terms of staff time) to students who need it by making the requirement optional at the campus level, Therefore, I recommend that Section 9(d) of The General Rules Concerning University Organization and Procedure be amended as follows (parenthetical material to be deleted; underlined material to be added): All new students entering the University (are) may be required at the beginning of their first (semester) term to receive a physical examination in a form prescribed by the Director of Health Services at the appropriate University campus. This change will permit campus variations in the requirement of physical examinations for entering students. The Chancellors at the three campuses and the University Senates Conference concur in this proposed amendment.
