As the curriculum is now organi zed> fi^tTmTer™ required of all students are prerequisite to second semester course ' To take care of the considerable group who may, from present indications, want to enter in February, the five courses ordinarily offered only in the fall term would be repeated during the spring term Then to make it possible for students in the special program to complete work for the degree without interruption, the regular second semester courses would be repeated in the twelve-weeks session scheduled for summer of 1946 February 25 could graduate on September 14. It is hoped that alumni will call this announcement to the attention of prospective beginning students, especially veterans, in order to help the Library School gauge the need for such a special program.

Scholarships and Assistantships, 1946-47

Alumni are reminded of the scholarships and assistantships available to graduate students in Library Science at the University of Illinois for the academic year 1946-47. Candidates must hold an A.B. degree from an accredited college and a degree or certificate for the first year of professional study in librarianship from an accredited library school. Applications should be addressed to R. B. Downs, director, University of Illinois Library School, Urbana, Illinois. The Katharine L. Sharp Scholarship, maintained from the income of an endowment fund established by the Library School Association provides a stipend of $300 for. the year and exemption from u t fees. Applications for this scholarship should be filed no later than February 15, 1946. Announcement of the award wdl be made on
