Library School Placement Records

cooperation of all alumni ,Library School up to date is especially urged during this period when frequent c h a n t s in positions are luinU- made. The importance of this . [ both for the individual's own good and from the point of view of his J professional obligations is illustrated by two recent incidents. I n t h e fifSt C a S e a y o u n **kf ' S woman recommended as a circulation assistant in a college library, a type of work for which she had asked to be considered, could not be located by the prospective employer. She had failed to notify the School of the address where she had taken a temporary position and so lost the opportunity of securing a permanent one. In the second case a young woman had asked to be considered for ^HSB positions at the salary she was then receiving or a larger one. She was recommended for three such positions. The School later learned, through the kindness of one of the prospective employers, that she had refused at least one of the positions. It developed that, in the meantime, the young lna j woman had received a salary increase in her present position which caused her to be no longer interested in a change. Her failure to notify the m nfrfl| School of this, however, had put the latter in the position of recommending : person not interested in the positions. .
