"We could see that the students and faculty in broadcast journalism had gotten by with meager technical facilities for years. We decided to do something about i f Mr. Richmond said. He is a 1943 graduate of the U of I College of Agriculture. The Richmonds have supported a variety of University programs for many years as well as providing the $2 million Richmond Studio funding. In addition, the family made another $2 million gift provision creating the Richmond Family Endowed Men's Head Basketball Coach fund, which was announced the day Richmond Studio was dedicated.
