It should also be noted that this service included work on several of the Board's committees and the Chairmanships of the Finance Committee, the Committee on Buildings and Grounds, and the Alumni Committee. In all of these assignments and in other respects your service on this Board has been characterized by a sense of the dignity and public trust of the office to which you were twice elected by the people of Illinois. You have made a faithful accounting of this trust. The University is fortunate to have had you on its Board of Trustees and you will be missed by your colleagues. The President and other administrative officers of the University desire to be included in this tribute and they join the members of the Board of Trustees in extending best wishes to you and Mrs. Fornof in the years to come. The Board directs that this resolution be incorporated in the minutes of today's meeting to become a part of the official record and that a suitable copy be given you as a permanent reminder of the esteem and affection in which you are held. Given at Chicago, Illinois On the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-three, and in the eighty-sixth year of the University.
