MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS September 23, 1953 The September meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held in the LaSalle Hotel, Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday, September 23, 1953, beginning at 10:30 a.m. (C.D.S.T.). The following members were present: Mr. Cushman B. Bissell, Mr. Harold E. Grange, Mr. Wirt Herrick, Mr. Robert Z. Hickman, Mrs. Doris S. Holt, Mr. Wayne A. Johnston, Mr. Park Livingston, Mr. Herbert B. Megran, Mr. Vernon L. Nickell, and Mrs. Frances B. Watkins. Governor William G. Stratton was absent. Also present were: Dr. Lloyd Morey, Acting President, Mr. Ralph F. Lesemann, Legal Counsel, Mr. J. F. Wright, Director of Public Relations, and the officers of the Board, Messrs. H. 0 .
