The educating and handling of the employee, has become a great problem, and promises to become even more important in the near future. The increased carrying oapaoity and speeds demanded, will require entirely new methods and designs to be employed by the railroads, I hope many of you young men will find your way into the service, and it will be you, young men, who will have to inaugurate these new systems, establish the new organizations, design the new oars, and meet the new problems which are to be solved. All of these changes must be worked out along the lines of a reduction in the freight rate, thereby increasing the market value to the man who produces the freight, cheapening the cost to the man who consumes it, which will add the greatest degree of success in the development of this land of ours, where have been brought together the nations, the creeds and colors of all the world. Among the generations to come will be found the American boy who will be able to solve the secrets of the elements and utilize them for the success and prosperity of this nation.
