56 On the Banks of the Boneyard The events described in this story take us from the Illinois Industrial University to the granting of degrees under Dr. Peabody's regime and then to the real beginning of the University of Illinois under Dr. Burrill; it deals largely with my own experiences and those involving my class and the class of '91. Should it be that descriptions differ from others you have read or heard, please recall what Israel Zangwill had to say, "The only things true in history are the dates;" and remember that I am neither historian nor novelist, just an old-timer trying to tell the stories of his days in college.
