MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS September 29, 1949 The September meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held on Thursday, September 29, 1949, at the Chicago U n dergraduate Division, according to the following schedule: 10 a.m. — Executive session as in Committee of the Whole. 2 p.m. — Open session. W h e n the Board convened, the following members were present: President Williamson, Mr. Fornof, Mr. Herrick, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Nickell, M r s . W a t k i n s ; Mr. Livingston and Dr. Meyer took their places with the Board during the forenoon. President Stoddard was present; also Vice-President A. C. Ivy, Provost C. R. Griffith, Assistants to the President A. J. Janata and Wilbur Schramm, Secretary H. E. Cunningham, Comptroller Lloyd Morey, Assistant Comptroller H . O. Farber, Legal Counsel W . E . Britton, and, during part of the day, Dean C. C. Caveny and Director J. F . W r i g h t . MINUTES APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meetings of M a y 21 and June 25, 1949. O n motion of Mr. Nickell, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 357 to 488 above. 809
