CONTRACTS FOR PHYSICAL PLANT SERVICE BUILDING ANNEX (17) The Director of the Physical Plant Department and the Comptroller recommend award of contracts to the following lowest bidders for the construction of a temporary one-story building, approximately 24 feet by 80 feet, as a Physical Plant Service Building Annex: E. Funds are available in the Physical Plant Department budget for this work. I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute these contracts.

On motion of Mr. Fornof, these contracts were authorized.

CONTRACT FOR EXTENSION OF UTILITIES DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM TO STUDENT AND STAFF APARTMENTS AT URBANA (18) T h e Director of the Physical Plant Department and the Comptroller recommend the award of contracts for the extension of the electrical distribution system to the Student and Staff Apartments at Green Street and Goodwin Avenue to: John Felmley Company, Bloomington, general work $ 4 500 A. These are the lowest bids in each case. Funds are available in the State appropriation for "Extension of the Utilities Distribution System." I concur and recommend that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute the contracts.

On motion of Mrs. Watkins, these contracts were authorized.

CONTRACT FOR R E C O R D PROGRAM SERVICE

(19) The Director of Radio Station W I L L and the Comptroller recommend the award of a contract to the Muzak Corporation, New York City, for a recorded program service consisting of transcriptions aggregating four thousand or more recorded titles for a two-year period from July I, 1049. -The contract also provides for additional recorded program service each month consisting of a set of transcriptions aggregating at least two hours of continuous playing time. T h e cost of this service is $2,910, payable in twenty-four monthly installments, of which the first six shall be $110 each and the remaining eighteen $125 each. I concur.

On motion of Mrs. Holt, this contract was authorized.

CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES AT CHICAGO PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES (20) T h e Vice-President in charge of the Chicago Professional Colleges, the Director of the Physical Plant, and the Comptroller recommend the employment of Pace Associates for architectural services in connection with the design and construction of the proposed new classroom and laboratory building at the Chicago Professional Colleges. Pace Associates propose to provide complete architectural, engineering, and supervisory service for a fee of 5^2 per cent of the cost of the work designed by them or purchased under their direction. This firm was previously engaged for preliminary studies on this project and any payments received for this preliminary work will be credited against the fee under the contract now proposed.
