Alumni MILTON M. OLANDER, Class of 1922, Manager of Industrial Relations, OwensIllinois Glass Company, Toledo, Ohio LAWRENCE A. PETERSON, Class of 1931, Realtor (L. A. Peterson and Company), 1305 Chicago Avenue, Evanston, Illinois HARRY E. SCHLENZ, Class of 1927, Vice-President of the Pacific Flush Tank Company, 4241 Ravenswood Avenue, Chicago (new appointment) Professor Bone will replace Professor George B. Weisiger, who has been on the Board of Directors since May 16, 1942. Professor Bone joined the faculty of the University of Illinois in 1934. Mr. Schlenz will replace Mr. C. E. Lovejoy, Jr., who has been on the Board of Directors since March 9, 1946.

On motion of Mr. Hickman, these appointments were made as recommended.

AWARD OF CONTRACTS FOR REPOWERING AND RELIGHTING PHYSICS BUILDING (4) On November 19, 1948 (Minutes, page 174), the Board of Trustees appropriated funds for the installation of an improved primary service to furnish 208/120 volt electric service to the Physics Laboratory. This is the first phase of a project to repower and relight the building. Bids have been received for the general work and the electrical work, which will provide for the installation of primary service connection to and including the main secondary circuit breaker in the transformer room and necessary alterations in that room. The Director of the Physical Plant Department and the Comptroller recommend the award of the contract for the general work to Kuhne-Simmons Company, Inc., Champaign, for $6,379 and for the electrical work to Square Deal Electric Company, LaPorte, Indiana, for $12,400, both being the lowest bidders. I concur and request that the Comptroller and Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute these contracts.

CURRICULUM IN RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT (5) The Board of Trustees has authorized the offering of training in restaurant management (Minutes, page 1099, May 29, 1946), subject to the development of an appropriate curriculum. The University Senate has recommended a curriculum leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Restaurant Management to be administered by the College of Agriculture and to include the following courses: Prescribed Courses for Freshman and Sophomore Years SEMESTER
