Fifty-seven commercial laundries in the Chicago area were asked if they would be interested in bidding on such service and 12 replied they would. Subsequently six of these laundries submitted bids on a one-stop service with a central pick-up and delivery and two submitted bids on the basis of collecting and delivering laundry at the various locations required. The multiple pick-up and delivery service will be more efficient and economical than a one-stop pick-up and delivery service which would require the University to collect and distribute the laundry internally. This service is proposed only until June 30 of the current fiscal year with any change in price to be mutually agreeable to both parties before it is put into effect. This supplementary service will enable the University to reduce the volume of work handled by its own laundry to a point of greater efficiency. 125 No. 455 Jasper side arm chairs, Physical Plant 1 850 48 W.
