SECTION V I I I — 2-A. Each full-time permanent and continuous employee is entitled to a disability leave of two work weeks with pay in each year of service, no part of which shall be cumulative. Each permanent and continuous employee employed regularly but on a part-time basis is entitled to such fraction of two work weeks with pay as is represented by the relationship between this part-time employment and the full-time schedules in his classification. Any permanent and continuous employee, or any person who is employed in a position or in work which the University contemplates continuing for at least six months, but who has not yet completed six months' service in any classification or classifications of nonacademic employment, who is disabled before completing his first year of service will be allowed the same proportionate amount of the two work weeks' disability leave as the portion of the year completed. I concur.

On motion of Mr. McLaughlin these changes in policy were approved as recommended.

SPECIAL APPROPRIATIONS FOR NONRECURRING EXPENDITURES (6) T h e Committee on Special Appropriations and Nonrecurring Expenditures recommends assignments from the General Reserve Fund for the following purposes: 1. Remodeling Room 406 Davenport Hall $11 010 2. Chicago Professional Colleges for remodeling of space for internal auditor 1 950 3. Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy for projectors 600 4. College of Medicine for lighting control in Rooms 106, 221, and 443 and public address system in Rooms 221 and 443 1 700 5. College of Pharmacy for equipment 2 635 6. Chicago Professional Colleges for remodeling and equipment for Nonacademic Personnel Office 1 300 Total $19 195 I concur. On motion of Dr. Meyer, these appropriations were made as recommended, by the following vote: Aye, Mr. Davis, Mr. Fornof, Mrs. Holt, Mr. Livingston, Mr. McKelvey, Mr. McLaughlin, Dr. Meyer, Mr. Williamson; no, none; absent, Dr. Luken, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Stevenson. APPROPRIATION AND CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEM IN THE MCKINLEY HOSPITAL (7) The Board of Trustees has authorized installation of an emergency lighting system in the McKinley Hospital to provide service to the first floor, including X-ray room, laboratory, and emergency room, and to the surgery quarters on the third floor. The Director of the Physical Plant Department and the Comptroller recommend the award of a contract for $5,124 for this installation to the Leverenz Electric Company, Danville, the lowest bidder. I recommend that an appropriation of $5,124 be made for this improvement and that the Comptroller and the Secretary of the Board be authorized to execute the contract.

COLD ROOM IN PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT BUILDING AT CHICAGO PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES (8) One of the important items required for the new Physical Environment Unit, under construction in Chicago from a State appropriation and supplementary appropriations from the University's General Reserve, is a cold room including
