Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Pathology This program is designed to provide advanced study of the mechanisms of pathogenesis of functional and structural expressions of disease. Admission requirements: (1) General requirements governing admission of all graduate students; (2) completion of undergraduate medical basic science courses, including general and special pathology in Class A medical or dental schools, or (3) completion of medical courses in microscopic anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology (Anatomy 404-405, Biological Chemistry 301, Physiology 324, 325, 326 or equivalent). Degree requirements: For the master's degree: (1) One full year in residence; (2) nine units of work, including four units of research; (3) an acceptable thesis, plus a comprehensive examination. For the doctor's degree: (1) General regulations with respect to residence, credit, language proficiencies and preliminary and final examinations; (2) an acceptable thesis. Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Chemistry This curriculum constitutes a necessary part of a program for the creative advancement of rational medication in the health sciences. Admission requirements: (1) General regulations governing admission of all graduate students; (2) B.S. in Pharmacy from accredited institution. Degree requirements: For the master's degree: (1) One full year in residence; (2) nine units of work, including four units of research; (3) an acceptable thesis, plus a comprehensive examination. For the doctor's degree: (1) General regulations with respect to residence, credit, language proficiencies and preliminary and final examinations; (2) an acceptable thesis. Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacognosy This program is designed to train teachers and research workers in the field of pharmacognosy and in colleges of pharmacy. Admission requirements: (1) General requirements governing admission of all graduate students. Degree requirements: For the master's degree: (1) One full year in residence; (2) nine units of work, including four units of research; (3) an acceptable thesis, plus a comprehensive examination. For the doctor's degree: (1) General regulations with respect to residence, credit, language proficiencies and preliminary and final examinations; (2) an acceptable thesis. Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmacology The purpose of this program is to train teachers of pharmacology in colleges of medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy, and to stimulate research efforts in this field. Admission requirements: General requirements governing admission of all graduate students. Degree requirements: For the master's degree: (1) One full year in residence; (2) nine units of work, including four units of research; (3) an acceptable thesis, plus a comprehensive examination. For the doctor's degree: (1) General regulations with respect to residence, credit, language proficiencies and preliminary and final examinations; (2) an acceptable thesis. Master of Science in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation The aim and objective of this curriculum is to train future investigators and teachers in the field of physiatrics.
