GRADUATE CURRICULA AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN Geography This is a reorganization of the curriculum leading to the degrees of Master of Arts or Master of Science, and an extension of that program to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Geography. Admission requirements: (1) General regulations governing admission of all graduate students; (2) at least eighteen hours of undergraduate work in geography in addition to a beginning course. Degree requirements: For the master's degree: ( i ) General regulations established by the Graduate College; (2) students offering a thesis in partial fulfillment of the requirements for this degree must sustain an oral examination over the thesis and the general field of geography; (3) students who waive the thesis must sustain a written examination over the general field of geography. For the doctor's degree: (1) General regulations with respect to residence, credit, language proficiencies, and preliminary and final examinations; (2) an acceptable thesis. Physiology This is a reorganization of the curriculum leading to the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Physiology. Graduate work in this area heretofore was administered by the Department of Zoology and Physiology. A curriculum leading to the master's degree in physiology had been established and in a few cases the doctor's degree had been awarded with the approval of the Graduate College although no formal program leading to such a degree has been approved.
