LETTER FROM ROGER ADAMS President Williamson read the following letter from P r o f e s s o r Roger Adams. Mr. Kenney E. Williamson March 20, 1950 606 Lehmann Building Peoria 2, Illinois

DEAR M R . WILLIAMSON:

The Testimonial of Appreciation which Mr. Harrison E. Cunningham delivered to me on behalf of the Board of Trustees is a scroll of unusual workmanship and great beauty. Its words of Greetings and Congratulations coming from the Trustees of the University will always mean much to me. What I may have accomplished in science and in the administration of the Chemistry Department or other organizations, I owe in large measure to the encouragement 1 have received from the University Administrative Officers and the Board of Trustees and to their constant support since my arrival on the campus in 1916. My thirty-four years here have been filled with pleasure and satisfaction and I feel fortunate in being associated with the University of fllinois. Will you kindly extend to the Board my sincerest thanks and appreciation. Cordially yours,

ROGER ADAMS
