MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS August 5, 1947 The August meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois was held at the Blackstone Hotel, in Chicago, on Tuesday, August 5, 1947, according to the following schedule: 4 p.m. — Executive session as in Committee of the Whole. 8:30 p.m. — Open session. The following members were present: President Livingston, General Davis, Mr. Fornof, Mrs. Holt, Mr. McKelvey, Mr. McLaughlin, Mr. Nickell, Mr. Williamson. President Stoddard was present; also Dr. A. C. Ivy, Vice-President in Charge of the Chicago Professional Colleges, Professor C. R. Griffith, Provost, Mr. A. J. Janata, Assistant to the President, Mr. H. E. Cunningham, Secretary, Mr. Lloyd Morey, Comptroller, Professor W. E. Britton, Legal Counsel, and, during part of the day, Mr. J. F. Wright, Director of Public Information. MINUTES APPROVED The Secretary presented the minutes of the meeting of June 23, 1947. On motion of Mr. Nickell, the minutes were approved as printed on pages 387 to 484 above. 485
